Now that Oak Leaf is rolling every week, I'm settling into a schedule. I've got to be much more proactive in managing my schedule or the urgent will manage me. I'm getting to the office at 8:30 (or a morning coffee with someone) and getting out of there by 5:00. I work out or run right when I get home - that's the time when I need some extra energy and no matter what Body by Life says, I just can run first thing in the morning. I take one night a week and work late, or meet with people that require night meetings. Here's a snapshot of my week:
Monday - review Sunday (including watching my message), follow up with guests, send out e-mails, write notes, and some study time
Tuesday - office stuff, planning, and some advance study for future messages. Right now I am creating the handouts for Sunday too. I send my message notes to the person who creates PPT.
Wednesday - study day. Leadership deveopment in the am, reading, preparing for staff meeting and study in the afternoon. I must set aside time for reading and leadership development. Right now, our staff meets on Wednesday night.
Thursday - meeting day. I try and do all my meetings on this day. If the day gets full, I'll schedule for the next week. I'll finalize the order of service for Sunday.
Friday and Saturday - off. Saturday morning or late at night, I'll review notes for Sunday's message, but that's it. I don't want to work on these days.
And Sunday is a work day.
