I can't talk about it all yet but we are making some big changes on our staff that will allow us to reach more people. I can mention a couple of things now. One thing we're looking for a full time family pastor / children's pastor to direct our kids ministry on Sunday mornings and oversee family ministry. This is such an important position in our church because the average Oak Leafer is either single or has 7 kids. There's not many families in the middle. :) We've advertised this position on a couple of website and we're taking resumes.
As we transition and change the staff, I'm reminded of just how much things change quickly in a church plant. I've changed Tim's job title a couple of times already. But each time, we're taking steps in the right direction and it's a good thing. Change is hard, but we work in an environment where change is normal. I mean, you've got that whole life-change thing, so if we're doing our job right, we ought to be surrounded by people whose lives are changed.
Last week at our staff meeting, we talked about some big changes that are coming at Oak Leaf. I laid out a big plan and a big vision for the rest of the year and into the future. We started praying some big prayers. Ephesians 3:20 says that God can do more than we can ask or imagine, and right now, I'm imagining a lot and asking for a lot. Again, I'm going to talk about this on April 22, and then we'll discuss it here on the blog.
If you're a part of Oak Leaf, get ready. You are about to change this community.
